The Ugliest Man in Hollwood

Book 1 in a three-book series – “The Best Worst Thing”

Matthew Lewis, a former NFL player who made the move to Hollywood when a shoulder injury ended his football career, wants a change in his acting career. He’s sick of action films and of playing the romantic lead opposite ever younger women. Matthew’s agent is convinced that Matthew writing his memoir will help Hollywood see Matthew’s serious side and he agrees. Matthew is much more comfortable with the words of others than his own words, so his agent finds a ghostwriter who turns out to be his favorite author, Catherine Stone. He is sure it’s going to be a disaster.

Cat Stone is a mid-list romance author who supplements her income by ghostwriting memoirs. She hates ghostwriting – even the best of her clients are difficult, and the worst ones are absolute nightmares. But money is tight, and when a senior editor at her publisher offers her a gig writing the memoir for yet another famous person, Cat can’t really refuse. When it turns out to be Matthew Lewis, a pretty boy whose films are so unappealing that it leaves her cold, Cat is sure it’s going to be a disaster.

Then they meet and it’s anything but a disaster. Matthew turns out to be a dream client and they even get past the awkwardness of Matthew being a fan of Cat’s but Cat not being a fan of Matthew’s. As the memoir progresses, the attraction between them grows to the point where it can’t be ignored. Matthew is determined that the end of the memoir will only be the beginning of the rest of his life with Cat, but a family emergency pulls Cat back home before they’re done. Matthew wants her forever, but Cat is determined to walk away.
